Fare
Well My Friend
It’s
great that I can start out with this title and that my story is a
happy one!!! We all grow and our lives change. We can be happy or
unhappy with those changes. I find myself in a world full of changes,
and I’m enjoying all of them. One of the biggest changes is my decision
to sell my horse "Farceur’s Fool’s Gold," aka "Sonny."
My husband
Tom and I retired and moved to the small town of Malin, Oregon. We
both love it here. It was our plan to keep raising Morgans here, albeit
just on a smaller scale than we had been doing in Sacramento, California.
However, after being here for two years and getting settled, our horsy
focus has changed. My dream has always been to trail ride the USA,
not to go to horse shows and breed horses. Tom has always been more
interested in trail riding also. So we have joined the ranks of trail
riders only!! This trail riding concept brings me to my decision to
sell Sonny.
I have
always felt that Sonny belonged to everyone!! He is a horse to be
shared. I've been his caretaker, his trainer, and his friend for these
past 12 years. Sonny is an incredibly special horse. I feel so proud
and blessed to have had him in my life. It would be a sad thing for
the world if I were to keep Sonny here and use him only as a trail
horse. An opportunity has arisen for Sonny to be off to conquer more
hearts in a new part of the world. Sonny is moving to Sweden and a
new career!!!
At a
time in life when most stallions are retiring off to the stud farm,
Sonny, who has been putting in his time at stud all along (over 200
foals ), is moving on to a whole new beginning! I’m so thankful that
I love Sonny enough to let him go to his new destiny, as truly the
most Famous Morgan in the WORLD.
The joy
Sonny has brought in to my life through the people who came to meet
him is priceless. I will always cherish the people and the memories.
Happy
Trails,
Nancy
